Injecting high-octane drama at Bath’s most celebrated cocktail bar
Inside, we created a series of dramatic schemes to ensure each area of the venue is exciting to discover and pops as a backdrop to photography for social media content. This includes bespoke printed murals in the bar space, colourful banquette seating and playful floral ceiling installations. We improved signage to the club area to tempt customers to stay on for late night dancing.
The directors of Sub 13, an award-winning cocktail bar in Bath, asked Woodhouse and Law to revamp the bars, VIP area and garden at their much-loved city centre venue. We were also tasked with redesigning the frontage and creating impactful signage to ensure they stand out in this hotspot of the city’s nightlife scene.
The bar’s listed building status provided a challenge on signage, so we had to think outside of the box and designed custom neon chandeliers which stand out from a distance, without going against stringent local planning regulations. We also installed bespoke planting and large scale floral displays to frame windows and create a sense of fun and drama for customers.
Outside, we redesigned the garden space to make the DJ the focal point of party proceedings, with a central bespoke booth with neon lighting and custom-made neon mural by Eloisa Henderson-Figueroa.
The made-to-last results are stylish, fun and vibrant – reflecting the values at the core of this ever-evolving Bath institution.
