Our clients love music, so we designed a record shop wall with bespoke shallow ledges lit with discreet LEDs to display their favourite vinyl. The feature adds colour and interest, is a great conversation starter and is easy to switch up to create a fresh new look and feel.
The brief was to create a bold, joyful but also restful scheme at this country house in Devon.
We took inspiration from our clients’ extensive art collection, echoing colours and shapes with one-off furniture pieces; adding blue velvet armchairs with layered fringing in the hallway; a bubblegum pink island in the kitchen; and a hanging wicker egg chair in the living room. In the master bedroom design, we extended a focal point artwork with decorative porcelain birds flying across the wall, leading the eye to a vast sculptural tub looking out over the grounds in the luxurious bathroom.

We added plenty of glamour throughout, including a bespoke bar in the living room. The combination of dark wood, detailed brass fretwork and antiqued mirrors with a statement wallpaper backdrop brings a truly luxurious feel to drinks at home.

With the adults well catered for, we also created a dedicated den for the kids and teenagers, complete with neon sign, gaming stations, squidgy sofa, and a very large disco ball. In keeping with its leafy location, we painted many of the Georgian windows a dark teal to enhance the view beyond. We decorated walls in linen for texture and depth and didn’t miss an opportunity to inject a sense of fun with the likes of pom-pom edged cushions, colour-pop tiling, bold fabrics and statement ceiling mural
