John, Sophie C and Sophie L had a successful trip to Paris last week, seeking out some beautiful new finds at biannual trade fair Maison et Objet.
The show was full of free form, organic shaped furniture, often with ceramic legs or tiled tops. Travertine in myriad colours has taken over as stone du jour from marble, artisanal pieces reigned supreme, and earthy tones with depth – browns in every hue, pigmented with aubergine, rust and pinks – predominated colour palettes.
