SNOWED UNDER

SNOWED UNDER

Woodhouse and Law January 29th, 2021 News & Ideas

The snowdrop has long been the much-anticipated signal that, whilst spring is not quite upon us, it is undeniably on its way. Despite its reliable entrance each year, it’s difficult not to marvel at how something so delicate can make its way through such unfavourable conditions, and in such quantities.

The annual spectacle at Rococo Gardens at Painswick is no exception, If you’re local to Painswick , we’d highly recommend checking out their snowdrop display as a backdrop to your daily lockdown exercise over the coming days. To book your arrival time, click here.

Those of us a little further afield may have to wait a little longer until we can experience these wonderful gardens first hand. In the meantime, Nick’s latest garden design column in Bath Life gives an insight into the extraordinary history of the only remaining Rococo garden in the country.

25 BEAUTIFUL HOMES

25 BEAUTIFUL HOMES

Woodhouse and Law January 15th, 2021 News & Ideas

We were thrilled to have a recent restoration of a 1730s country cottage featured in the February issue of 25 Beautiful Homes magazine.

A second home for our clients, whose main residence is a contemporary property in Surrey, they’d fallen in love with rural Somerset and were inspired by the laid-back style of one of their favourite places to visit nearby, Babington House.

They wanted that same country, cosy, welcoming feel with a sense of fun, asking to be pushed out of their usual neutral comfort zone, with plenty of bold colour and pattern incorporated in the schemes.

It was also important the cottage still felt personal to them, so we made sure to incorporate some of their existing pieces, such as a leather sofa and Chesterfield, into the space.

We loved working on this project, so if you fancy injecting some Soho House interiors style into your home, make sure you pick up a copy next time you’re on the supermarket run!

We’re delighted to be start 2021 on a high, having been appointed by property developers Kersfield, to work on their latest project at Sion Hill Place, across five luxury apartments.

Designed by world-renowned architect John Pinch the Elder, the Grade I property on a secluded Georgian terrace in Lansdown, is of notable historical interest.

As one of the city’s most sought after locations with property values to match, it was named by The Sunday Times as one of the UK’s ‘most wanted’ streets last year, as well as one of the city’s best-kept secrets!
